A river between us

Have you ever looked across the river, seen where you want to go
and not be able to?

Your heart, your hopes and dreams are on the other side...

Have you ever followed someone in loving trust?

Have you followed them,
knowing that even if you do not know where they are leading
you know you are safe?

Have you ever partnered with a warrior?

They see so much deeper into people's souls.

They see the depths of how badly you can be hurt.

Their capacity to return harm with harm is only tempered by mercy.

I think of Paul, a warrior turned servant...what a transformation.

I think of Peter able to walk on water as long as he did not think..

Faith carried him as long as he centered his vision on Christ.

A bridge to the other side...

An endless river...

Sometimes buffeting us from those who would not have mercy..

Sometimes drawing us in the same direction as we follow it's course.



I am thankful for mercy and the river of love I feel today.
